Leeds Support Group
Have you recently had a child removed through adoption?
Do you live in or near Leeds?
AAY has set up a new support group in Leeds for birth parents who have had children adopted at Oxford Place (in the centre of Leeds).
For further information about the group and future dates,
please contact Mike Hancock, our Birth Parent Development Worker on his mobile no. 07582 212028 or send him a text and he will call you back.
Not sure if this group is right for you? You can still get in touch with Mike for an informal chat.
We aim to provide a service that is independent, non-judgemental and sensitive to your needs.
This will be an informal group run by AAY workers and birth parents. We can refund the cost of bus travel.
AAY has already set up a birth parents group in Sheffield. This is what one of the members of our Sheffield group said;
“I am a mother of 2 children where one of them has been
adopted. I know how difficult things are . I know from experience how hard it
is and how isolated and alone, but through the group I have met great friends
and gained loads of support along the way.
When you have lost a child to adoption it is hard to think
anyone understands how you feel and what you are going through. Over the years
we have talked about our experiences and gained a lot of support from the
group."
If you would like more information, about the Leeds or Sheffield birth parent groups, please get in touch with Mike on his mobile 07582 212028.
